Rowland's Brews
- Calumet Amber
This medium bodied beer is amber to copper in color. The taste is a sweet caramel malt flavor, and is moderately hopped. Traditionally an Irish recipe, our amber beer uses 4 different barleys with an ample supply of caramel malt.
- Calumet Dark
The Brewer's special blend of four unique malts including chocolate & caramel malt. A light taste of coffee with a sweet finish makes this one of our best selling beers.
- Calumet Oktoberfest
First brewed for a wedding in Europe, this beer is served all year. A medium bodied beer with a taste that is more refreshing with every swallow.
- Calumet Rye
This beer was first introduced in May 1993 at our "Annual Beer Fest." It was the first commerical Rye beer sold in Wisconsin. The recipe was developed in conjunction with head maltster, Roger Nelson, of Briess Malting Co. in Chilton. A smooth flavored beer with a hint of Rye.
- Fat Man's Nut Brown Ale
The nutty roasted flavor of this beer and its rich full flavor named this beer.
Seasonals
- Bitter Bitch Belgium Ale
Just like a woman, this beer is extremely satisfying. The complex variety of grains produce a rich malt taste with a hint of raisin.
- Bucholz Alt
A full bodied German style ale. Light copper in color. Sweet and malty with a clean finish of a lager. Formulated with "Luther" Paul from Lakefront Brewery.
- Calumet Bock
A traditional beer brewed by the monks during Lent. Our Bock is made using a blend of six malts resulting in a distinct malt flavor with a light burnt finish. Lightly hopped.
- Calumet Ice
Although this beer starts like a traditional lager, it changes as the beer melds in storage at 30°F until the beer crystallizes. Dry finish.
- Calumet Kolsch
This beer is made with equal parts of wheat, 2 row and 6 row barley. Using a free rise method of fermentation gives this beer a mild summery finish.
- Calumet Pilsner
Premium pale beer, similar to the Bohemian pilsner style, but sweeter and heavier in body. The taste is more malty and less hoppy with smooth undertones. This recipe is near and dear to the Brewer's heart, it was his father's recipe, a 1950 Coal miner from West Virginia. It has been changed ever so slightly to meet today's standard of brewing.
- Calumet Wheat
A technique developed by the brewmaster, using an extremely long boil and lager yeast makes this beer uniquely distinctive. South German style wheat beer gently hopped, light in body with a sweet finish. This is one of our mildest beers.
- Connor John's Scotch Ale
The smoked malt used in a scotch ale makes this beer unique. To add to the complex nature of this beer, caramel malt adds a sweet malty finish to the smoky taste.
- Detention Ale
This beer is dedicated to our brewery on School St. and Bob's and Pat's former teachers. Belgium wheat style made with one third unmalted red wheat. This ale has a mild malty biscuit-like flavor – fermented lower to finish dry.
- Guido's Grand Imperial Stout
Black and roasted malt makes this beer for the hearty beer drinker. Bitter malt and hops finish.
- Honey Lager
Light bodied – moderate hopped with a mild honey flavor. Dry finish. Special note: first made for the brewmaster's daughter's wedding in October 2005.
- Hunter's Choice
Hunter's is known for its hoppy flavor and clean finish. Light golden blonde to bronze in color.
- Kelly's Irish Red Lager
Full malt taste without being bitter is softened even more by caramel malt to add a burnt sugar finish. Lightly hopped.
- Madison Street Lager
A pre-prohibition pilsner beer made with pilssen malt, corn and rice. Formulated with Carl Strauss to duplicate this turn-of-the-century beer.
- Mittnacht Pilsner (Schwarz Bier)
Mittnacht means "midnight" in German. A medium bodied German style lager with a light roasted malt flavor. Has a moderately hopped bitterness. A light flavored dark beer.
- Mortimer's Ale
An English style ale packed with a lot of flavor. Formulated with Kirby Nelson (Capital Brewing Co.).
- Total Eclipse
More malt, more malt, more malt. Dark malt and the fact that light can't pass through gave this beer its name. Heavy in flavor, great in taste.
